Childhood sexual abuse is a trauma that occurs in childhood, and often continues to be a source of pain, shame and related symptoms throughout adulthood. The trauma often times re-presents itself in different ways throughout the victims lifetime…especially during, puberty, first sexual experience (by choice) , childbirth, having a child the age that he or she was when the abuse happened, sexual problems in a relationship (either self or partner) infidelity etc.
Childhood abuse does not make a person “broke”, crazy” or “unloveable” , but often makes him or her feel one or all of those ways. Left untreated, the symptoms of trauma often increase and lead to depression, anxiety and problems in relationships. Sexual child abuse is a crime and is never the child’s fault. A child is ethically and legally unable to give free will/informed consent which automatically make it rape.
