Gay and lesbian individuals and couples, struggle with the same issues as their “straight” family, friends and neighbors. For many years, gay and lesbian clients often kept their sexual orientation or preference from their therapists and “remained in the closet”, unless “coming out” was the reason for seeking therapy. Dealing with a sexual orientation issues and life issues should never have to be choice. Being able to safely be who you are, and  say what you think and feel is critical to the therapeutic process. Just because you are gay or lesbian should not interfere with your ability to get counseling for life struggles (i.e. relationships, addiction, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, sexual abuse/assault, career, etc.).

If you are gay or lesbian and want to talk to someone, I can help.

I also provide couples counseling to gay and lesbian couples as well as to other members of the LGBTQ community.
